A marriage or civil union license must be used in Chicago or suburban Cook County.
You do not have to be an Illinois resident or citizen of the United States to marry in Cook County.
This license can only be issued if you are not already legally married to someone else or to each other.
The license is valid for 60 calendar days from the date of issuance. The license is not issued until both parties appear in person at the Cook County Clerk's office.
This application will only be kept on file for 15 days from submitted date.
